One of the best ways to explore Central Victoria is on two wheels, wind rushing through your hair under the bright blue sky. There’s lots of things to see on a ride. Better yet, you get to experience it all at your own pace.

You have lots of options on a ride through Central Vic, let your interests guide you.

You could plan a trip to see some of the local produce being made or you could stop by all the local art galleries and historic villages.

Make sure you plan to stop off for a casual meal at one of the fantastic hip café’s where the coffee is sublime, or plan to end your trip at one of the fine dining establishments scattered throughout the region.

For bike hire, try the Bicycle Centre in Ballarat or the great tour company known as Ballarat on a Bike. They offer cheap tours and they’ll drop you off at the trail start and give you a bottle of water for $10. There’s a bunch of trails you can take ranging from the 9km City Heritage Ride up to the amazing Ballarat-Skipton Rail Loop that stretches for 126 kilometers of riding bliss.

Hire two bikes or more and they’ll throw in free bottomless coffees at the nearby Beechworth Bakery in Ballarat. What’s not to love?
